IRELAND - Irish International Airlines (1950's)
Adolph Treidler (1886-1981)
One of two posters designed by Adolph Treidler, an American commercial artist, in this exhibition; the other being for Bermuda. A most attractive and well designed poster from the mid 1950's with a Lockheed Constellation flying over an Irish rural scene. Horse drawn transport remained common in Ireland in the mid 20th century, and in the poster this traditional scene is juxtaposed with the modernity of the plane flying overhead.
