"A single spark can start a prairie fire" was an ancient Chinese saying that describes one flint and a single stone struck together under optimal conditions can begin a conflagration spreading throughout the country side. It refers to the power of one action inspiring the others that catalyzes a chain of actions. The title refers to a a letter written by Mao Zedong in criticism of certain pessimistic views then existing in the Party on January 5, 1930.
