Huang Yongsheng (1910–1983) was a general of the China's People's Liberation Army.During the Cultural Revolution, Huang Yongsheng commanded the Guangzhou Military Region.  Because of Huang's close associations with Lin Biao, Huang was purged following Lin's death in 1971.

"Guang Tan" is a short form of "Guangzhou's Tan Zhenlin". Tan Zhenlin, (1902-1983) was a government official of the People's Liberation Army, who became a central figure opposed to the Central Cultural Revolution Group (CCRG) in the early stages of the Cultural Revolution.
