Vintage original Chinese Propaganda poster. Printed in the People's Republic of China. Artwork by Li Guo Qing, 1977.

"Grasp the Principle & Rule the Country" was the political manifesto of Hua Guofeng, Mao's successor in 1977, after the downfall of the "Gang of Four". The "Principle" refer to "Class Conflict", the tension which exists in society due to competing socioeconomic interests and desires between people of different classes. The poster celebrates the holding of the 5th National People's Congress in 1978.
