The 1954 French Grand Prix was won by Fangio with Karl Kling coming in second, both driving for Mercedes. Fangio dominated the season winning six of the nine Championship races.

In this poster, Hans Liska has captured a dramatic scene of Karl Kling in car number 20 passing the chequered flag at the end of the race. This was Kling's first Grand Prix race, he came second to Fangio and became the first German driver to achieve a podium finish.
