Hong Kong (1969)
David Lam Chun-Fai (1923-2010)
One of a series of four posters commissioned by the HKTA in 1969 from David Lam, this one showing a peaceful rural scene in the New Territories.
David Lam was born and brought up in Hong Kong and trained in water colour painting under the guidance of Lee Byng and he blends elements of Chinese and Western style in his landscape paintings.
Lam emigrated to Vancouver in 1965 and found most of his commercial success following this move. He was commissioned in the mid 1960's to paint several murals for commercial buildings in Hong Kong including the then new Hilton Hotel.
