Hong Kong - Fly Northwest Orient Airlines (circa 1952)
Unknown artist
An early post-war poster issued by Northwest Orient with a Boeing 377 Stratocruiser flying over Hong Kong island. The 1935 Hongkong Bank head office building stands tall among the other buildings in the distance.
Northwest first flew the Stratocruiser in 1949 and began operating to Hong Kong in association with Hong Kong Airways in 1950, thus becoming the first US airline to open a route to Hong Kong after the Second World War.
