One of four posters by David Lam, issued by the Hong Kong Tourist Association in 1969 and showing a red double decker bus passing through a typical Hong Kong street with tong lau buildings and neon signs.. Lam was trained in water colour painting under the guidance of Lee Byng and he blends elements of Chinese and Western style in his landscape paintings.

This poster has a very rare overprinting from Lotus Tours. In the 1960's and 1970's Lotus Tours was one of the largest inbound tour operators in Hong Kong.

Born and brought up in Hong Kong, Lam emigrated to Vancouver in 1965 and found most of his commercial success following this move. He was commissioned in the mid 1960's to paint several murals for commercial buildings in Hong Kong including the then recently opened Hong Kong Hilton.
