A Wakhi girl from the village of Ptukh studies one of the first foreigners she has ever seen. The Wakhis are believed to be descendants of Alexander the Great. Tucked away in hard to reach valleys between the Pamir and Hindu Kush, the Afghan Wakhis eke out a living dictated by nature, family values and age old traditions.
