For the first time in Singapore, Hong Kong-based vintage poster dealer Picture This Gallery will present ‘The Art of the Poster’, a selling exhibition showcasing highlights from its collection of rare original vintage posters. The exhibition will be held at ION Art Gallery on Monday 24th November to Monday 1st December 2014. On offer will be posters promoting travel and tourism, food and beverage, and other product advertising, together with movie and entertainment promotional advertisements, all presenting amazing insights into retro design, popular culture and the trends of the times. Many leading poster designers are represented in this exhibition including Henri Toulouse-Lautrec and Jules Cheret from the late 19th century, and the very best of the 20th century poster artists including Adolphe Cassandre, Leonetto Cappiello, Jean d’Ylen, Paul Colin, Bernard Villemot, Lucien Boucher and Hervé Morvin.
