Yau Leung (1941-1997) is widely regarded as one of the most important and accomplished documentary photographers active in Hong Kong from the 1960s to the 1990s. In a style deeply reminiscent of his Western contemporaries Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Frank, he captured the very essence of the City through his evocative images of its people and streets. Almost exclusively working in black and white, his sharp eye and deft hand captured some of the most iconic photographic images of 1960s Hong Kong.
Printed in 1998 for an exhibition at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, these 39 original photographic prints (C-prints) are now being made available for sale at Picture This.
