First and only printing, in a numbered limited edition of 100 copies only, this being #81. Octavo, pp 92. Burgundy cloth covered hard boards, gilt lettering to upper board; no jacket as issued. Manuscript corrections, mainly typographical and apparently in the author’s hand through the book. This copy has been signed by the author and inscribed to John Beloff, dated 6/1/72. Beloff was Professor of Psychology at Edinburgh University and a largely discredited parapsychologist. Drage is better known as an author of biography and wrote Taikoo, which can be found above. This is a book of eleven short stories, the first six of which are set in Hong Kong in the period 1937-1941. In his foreword, Drage comments that ‘Most of these stories are intended as modest memorials to friends of the past’.
