First edition. Octavo, pp318. Orange cloth covered hard boards, in original dust jacket, un-clipped ($5.95). Sixteen pages of photographs at the centre.

 

Gleason was an American reporter who travelled widely in Asia including in Hong Kong. The book explores the developemnt of Hong Kong from its early day in the 19th century through to the fast growth in population and commerce in the immediate post-war years.

 

Fine condition book. Jacket is a little faded to the spine and worn at extremities. A tough book to find in this condition.
